Free Geek seeks a detail-orientated and organized individual with some grit and curiosity to provide critical administrative supports to a mission-driven staff of over 30.
Free Geek’s mission is to recycle technology and provide access to computers, the Internet, education, and job skills in exchange for community service. It’s a mission that’s worked for us through the many changes since our founding in 2000. Believing firmly that reuse is the highest and best form of recycling, we refurbish what we can and send it back out into the community with a new lease on life.
Primary responsibilities include overseeing or providing daily office activities, including payroll, human resources, accounting, and general administrative support for Free Geek. Many responsibilities are confidential in nature dealing with personnel matters, employee information and files and payroll.

Digital Inclusion Fellow Position
JOB TITLE: Digital Inclusion Fellow
CLASS: Bargaining Unit
CATEGORY: Temporary one-year position.
REPORTS TO: Director of Development & Public Services
Free Geek seeks a Digital Inclusion Fellow who will be responsible for expanding the scope and impact of adult digital literacy programming. This effort may involve: carrying out needs assessments; identifying, adapting or developing curriculum to suit community needs; developing new service locations; expanding digital literacy offerings in terms of frequency, location, or language; localizing, recruiting, training, and managing volunteers; training staff; developing and deploying outreach strategies to recruit participants; providing digital literacy training and tutoring to adults; developing partnerships; working with partners to coordinate and leverage resources; as well as performing additional duties as identified by NTEN and Free Geek. The Fellow will be responsible for project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
The Digital Inclusion Fellow will accomplish this project while working with local communities and digital inclusion stakeholders, sharing best practices, and generating a dialogue around digital inclusion.
