The Free Geek Store’s return policy applies to items not sold "as-is." These items cannot be exchanged or returned for any reason and will be labeled as such on the sales receipt.
To return an item, you must present your receipt at the time of return. The item must be in the same condition as when it was sold and have the original stickers attached. We do not offer cash refunds for any reason.
All returns are for store credit only. In-store credit never expires. We cannot provide duplicate copies of store credits.
Systems returned for reasons other than hardware faults are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Most store items are returnable for a period of 14 calendar days from the date of purchase for in-store credit.
30-Day Warranty on LCD Monitors
LCD monitors may be returned for a period of 30 calendar days from the date of purchase for in-store credit.
Computer systems purchased from The Free Geek Store are subject to our system warranty.
How long is the warranty period?
All computer systems are subject to a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase. This includes:
- Technical support: Provides help and technical support on preinstalled Linux Mint software.
- Hardware warranty: Includes service on hardware and covered accessories for 6 months after the purchase date.
Unless performed by Free Geek Tech Support, changes to the system’s hardware will void this warranty.
We are only able to address issues that can be demonstrated under our supported operating systems. If you choose to install another operating system, issues that are only present under the newly-installed OS are not covered under this warranty.
What does the warranty cover?
Our warranty covers only hardware failures. During the warranty period, we’ll gladly repair or replace any failed hardware components as necessary to keep your system fully functioning.
If your system suffers a complete failure, as determined by Tech Support, you will be issued a store credit for the full purchase price of your system. A new system purchased with this credit will be covered by a renewed warranty effective the date of the replacement purchase.
Still under warranty? Need assistance with your computer?
