With the incredible momentum we’ve built over the last several years, Free Geek has officially outgrown our space and we’re moving this July 2026!
We’re excited to share that our new home is just three blocks away at 1700 SE Grand Ave, so we’ll remain rooted right here in our SE community. This move is more than just a change of address—it’s an investment in the future of digital equity in Portland. We’re raising $150,000 to make this transition possible and power our next phase of impact. These funds will go toward:
🔧 Building improvements & renovations to create a safe, accessible, and welcoming community space.
⚡ Electrical, networking, and tech infrastructure upgrades to support our refurbishment and training programs.
đźš› Moving and logistics costs including transporting equipment, inventory, and materials
🪑 Furnishings & classroom setup to expand our education and workforce training programs.
♻️ Recycling & processing equipment upgrades to increase our capacity and sustainability efforts.
🛠️ Workspace buildouts for volunteers, staff, and community partners.
